Molten lava cake…don’t you just melt when you read that title?! I mean, the warm gooey cake that hits your lips just melts in your mouth like butter!
Add a scoop of cold vanilla ice cream and your bite turns into pure joy.
It’s funny when you take a bite of something and it brings you back to childhood…that’s how you know it’s good!
Ingredients:
- 1 CUP Milk
- 2 CUPS Brown Sugar
- 2 CUPS All-Purpose Flour
- 6 Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 4 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 4 Tbsp Butter
- 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 1/2 CUPS Brown Sugar
- 1/2 CUP Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 3 CUPS Boiling Water
Directions:
- Mix together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in large bowl.
- Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Spread batter over bottom of a large crockpot (this will rise so don’t use the mini crocks).
- Combine brown sugar and cocoa powder.
- Sprinkle over cake batter.
- Pour boiling water over the top of it all and resist all temptation to stir! DO NOT STIR.
- Cover and cook on High for 2 – 2 1/2 hours.
- Remove lid, turn off, and let rest 30 minutes before serving so it isn’t so hot!
- Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream.
