Instant Pot Warm Cinnamon Apples

I have a secret love affair with Cracker Barrel’s warm cinnamon apples. Served as a side dish, these delicious, warm, tender apple slices coated with a yummy cinnamon-y sauce are really more of a dessert than a side, but who can resist? So when I discovered how easy cinnamon apples were in the Instant Pot (get yours here: https://amzn.to/2QlkaDf), I was so excited!

Ready in only 20 minutes, these delicious apples are super easy to make, with dozens of uses!

  • Use them as a delicious side for a country-style dinner.
  • Serve over pork for a perfect protein finish.
  • Serve them over pound cake or ice cream for a yummy homemade dessert.
  • Serve them for breakfast with yogurt, oatmeal or granola.
  • Use as a topping for pancakes, waffles or french toast.
  • Use as a filling for pies or crisps.

The possibilities are endless!

Pro Tip: Different apples of different thicknesses need different cooking times. If you choose a different apple variety or slice into more or fewer slices, you may need to experiment with times to get just exactly the degree of tenderness. And depending on the outcome, you may want to add a slurry of 1 tbsp cold water and 1 tbsp cornstarch to thicken at the end.
