These M&M cookie bars are the most wonderful treat to have on this patriotic weekend! They are super easy to make and are great to have around all weekend!
The bar itself is like one of those delicious sugar cookies you find in the grocery store…but better (obviously)!
Make these bad boys for any occasion and have everyone go crazy over them! They will loooove you for it!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 CUP Unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 CUP Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 2 1/2 CUP Flour
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Baking soda
- 1 1/2 c. Patriotic M+M’s
- Sprinkles (optional
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and foil and grease a 9×13 pan with cooking spray.
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until smooth.
3. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing thoroughly.
4. Add the flour, mixing in three additions and mix in the salt and baking soda in between the flour additions, mixing until all is incorporated.
5. Spread the batter evenly into the pan and press the remaining half cup of M+M’s onto the top of the batter.
6. Sprinkle sprinkles on top. (optional)
7. Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing into 24 bars.
